But, the physical and emotional tension of our contemporary state of being produces a quality of voice that preaches its own cerebral egoic rhetoric, and which creates separation and ‘division’. This creation is essentially from a male preserve, even if there are an increasing number of female leaders…. thank God. In contra-opinion, the unique heart resonance of Marianne sounds the oratory of inclusivity, and like an anthem from heaven brings people to their senses, and a nation to its own psychological account. But this voice is different, for many have forgotten the metaphoric consciousness from which this voice pours, like molten gold into our lives. It’s different because many have lost connection with the transmission of their hearts, and the knowing that feeling is the language of the soul. Living thus means love and kindness cease to be at the fore of our consciousness, and so our soul withers inside us.

Walt Whitman, one of the great American poets of the nineteenth century, wrote in one of his most celebrated poems:

“O what is it in me that makes me tremble so at voices?
Surely whoever speaks to me in the right voice, him or her I shall follow, as the water follows the moon, silently, with fluid steps, anywhere around the globe. All wait for the right voices.
Where is the practiced and perfect organ? Where is the developed soul?
For I see every word uttered thence has a deeper, sweeter, newer sound,
impossible on lesser terms.
I see brains and lips closed, tympans and temples unstruck,
Until that comes which has the quality to strike to unclose,
Until that comes which has the quality to bring forth what lies
slumbering forever, always ready in all words……love.”
